MINTO – Ice will be installed in two of the town’s three arenas in time for the beginning of the winter sports season. However, like the past two seasons, a plan is in place to install ice at the Clifford arena later in the year if demand warrants it.

MINTO – A three-year contract for cleaning services in Minto, valued at $68,400 was awarded to Mississauga-based Green Maples Environmental by council at a Sept. 6 meeting.

911 Ride - Minto Fire hosted a lunch for about 150 Canada 911 Ride participants at the Palmerston fire station on Aug. 27.

PALMERSTON – Minto council has endorsed a draft plan of subdivision for the Clair Ridges development here and is recommending approval to the County of Wellington.

MINTO – Mayor George Bridge and several members of town council have spoken out against recent vandalism of decorations installed by the Minto Pride committee.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Faced with a lack of nursing staff trained in obstetrics care, North Wellington Health Care is halting obstetrics services at hospitals in Palmerston and Mount Forest from June 6 to at least Sept. 1.

HARRISTON – Ground was broken here on May 5 for a 1,150-square-foot addition to the Harriston Lions Community Medical Centre.
