WELLINGTON COUNTY – The region's top doctor has issued a statement urging local residents to get vaccinated and continue to take precautions a little longer in order to have a more normal summer and fall.
GUELPH – The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) has announced Peter Sovran will take over as director of education and secretary-treasurer for the board in September. He will take over from retiring director Dr. Martha Rogers, who has served as UGDSB director since 1995.
TORONTO – As many expected, the province has announced that elementary and secondary schools will move to remote learning following the break this week. "As I have always said ,we will do whatever it takes to ensure everyone stays safe," said Premier Doug Ford.
GUELPH – Nearly a quarter of eligible residents in the region have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination - and public health is now inviting everyone over the age of 16 to pre-register for their first shot. “This is something to celebrate,” stated Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health.
GUELPH – A group of virologists and immunologists at the University of Guelph wants the provincial government to put the brakes on its directive to extend to four months the period between doses of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.
WELLINGTON COUNTY – There were seven new COVID-19 cases reported in Wellington County over the weekend (March 19 to 21) – and 54 across the region. The county also recorded its 35th COVID-related death, a 65-year-old woman who passed away on March 16.
