MOUNT FOREST – Public health officials say "a young woman was bitten by a dog described as black and white brindle" on Sept. 4 at about 11:30am on Queen Street in Mount Forest.

ERIN – Officials here will be spending about $20,000 on what they are calling a "brand refresh" for the town. The municipality announced the project in a press release on Sept. 4.

MINTO ­– No one was hurt as a result of an agricultural fire between Palmerston and Harriston on Sept. 5.

MOUNT FOREST – According to a hospital Facebook post, the department will close on Sept. 6 (Friday) at 3pm and reopen on Sept. 7 (Saturday) at 7am.

GUELPH – Most students in Wellington County will be going back to school a day late this September. Both the Upper Grand District School Board and the Wellington Catholic District School Board have chosen to make Wednesday, Sept. 4 the first day of school for elementary and secondary students.

MAPLETON – Mapleton council presented a $250 athletic bursary to Joel Rumph on Aug. 13, in recognition of his success in high jump at the Athletics Canada Indoor National Championships.
