Drinking and driving
CENTRE WELLINGTON – On June 20 at about 5am, Wellington County OPP officers were monitoring traffic on Highway 6 between the 4th and 5th Line.
Police say officers stopped a vehicle that was “travelling at a high rate of speed.” A traffic stop was conducted.
A 31-year-old Fergus man was charged with speeding, driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system. He is to appear in Guelph court on July 31.
MOUNT FOREST – On June 21 at about 7:30am, Wellington County OPP officers responded to the report of a collision in a parking lot on Main Street South.
A 40-year-old Ayton man was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on July 28.
In the above incidents the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
