GUELPH/ERAMOSA – One person was sent to hospital with "life-altering" injuries following a collision between a car and motorcycle here on Sunday evening.

FERGUS – Residents here lent a hand to prevent a major loss during a Monday evening fire that police are now investigating as “suspicious.” Firefighters from Elora and Fergus responded to what was initially reported as a structure fire at 30 Davidson Place in Fergus at about 8:30pm on Aug. 1. 

HARRISTON – Police are investigating an armed robbery at the RBC bank here June 22.

Police are searching for clues after "a series of suspicious home entries" here, during which the perpetrator tampered with items but in most cases did not steal anything.

ROCKWOOD – A 33-year-old Mississauga man is dead following a boating incident at the Rockwood Conservation Area on June 4.

Bike rodeo – The Optimist Club of Centre Wellington, in partnership with Wellington County OPP, hosted a Bicycle Safety Course on May 14 at the Fergus Curling Club.

ABOYNE – Following the ouster of school resource officers from Upper Grand District School Board high schools last year, the Wellington County OPP has formed a new community-focused unit with four officers.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Police are again warning local residents to be wary of fraudsters after a resident here was scammed out of $50,000. Police say someone "provoked the victim" to purchase and transfer over $50,000 in Bitcoin and gift cards.

PUSLINCH – Over five days between Jan. 28 and Feb. 3, Black Cat speed monitors installed along Brock Road in Puslinch tracked the speeds of 63,739 vehicles.

HARRISTON – Police continue to investigate the March 2019 murder of a Kitchener man reported missing from Harriston. Jason John Brown, 43, was last seen on Jessie Street in Harriston.

NORTH WELLINGTON – Perth-Wellington “Freedom Convoy” organizers are thrilled with their event on Feb. 21, calling it “a fantastic day” and “a positive experience.”
