Police seek clues after items ‘tampered with’ during home entries

DRAYTON – Police are searching for clues after “a series of suspicious home entries” here, during which the perpetrator(s) “tampered with” items but in most cases did not take anything.

“In each incident, there were no signs of forced entry and in all but one case, nothing is known to have been stolen,” Wellington County OPP stated in a June 15 press release.

Police are investigating the following incidents:

  • overnight on June 3, someone entered a residence on Edward Street in Drayton and tampered with items in the home;
  • on the evenings of June 7 and 9, someone entered a home on River Run Road in Drayton and tampered with things (same home twice); and
  • sometime between June 11 and 12, someone entered a house on Main Street East in Drayton and tampered with items in the home.

The OPP is asking anyone who has information about these incidents or similar crimes to call 1-888-310-1122.
