MINTO – An adaptation plan for protecting infrastructure from the effects of climate change could be part of the long-term solution to Harriston’s chronic flooding problems, says Wellington County's climate change coordinator.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The local health unit has launched a new online tool to allow residents to check the status of their pre-registration for a COVID-19 vaccination. The new webpage, launched on May 5, is available at wdgpublichealth.ca/check-registration.,

MOUNT FOREST – On May 15th, organizers from the Downtown Mount Forest Retail Committee are holding a "Chalk Up Mount Forest" sidewalk and driveway drawing event. 

ERIN – Town council here is moving forward with plans to install electric vehicle charging stations at McMillan Park or Centre 2000 – or both. At its May 4 meeting, council reviewed a staff report that recommended moving forward with a request for proposals for the charging stations.

ERIN - Ross Watson, a teacher at Erin District High School, has been recognized as an “Everyday Hero” by the Upper Grand District School Board.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Police are still searching for the driver who fled on foot from the scene of a serious crash here last Friday. Police thought they had a lead the following day, but it did not result in an arrest.

ELORA – Major changes are coming to the Elora Rocks hockey team. This year, the team is set to join the brand-new Western Ontario Super Hockey League (WOSHL). The senior team also has a new general manager and a new president.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Businesses in and around Wellington County have been participating in "sign war" challenges recently. The friendly competitions, started to promote local businesses and entertain the community, proved popular in nearby Listowel recently and were also common in the U.S.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – While the active COVID-19 case count in the region remains high, it has dropped significantly over the last two weeks. Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health reported 141 new cases over the weekend (April 30 to May 2), bringing active cases in the region to 435.
