MOUNT FOREST – Wellington County OPP officials say an officer patrolling Main Street North in Mount Forest saw the driver of a sedan dealing drugs at about 11:15pm on June 19.

MINTO – Police have charged a third person – a Wellington North man – in connection with the 2019 kidnapping and death of Jason John Brown.

GUELPH – Automated speed enforcement (ASE) cameras are expected on Wellington County roads within the next six to nine months.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police are again warning county residents about grandparent scams, after two seniors were bilked out of thousands of dollars.

ERIN – An Erin man is in life-threatening condition after he was struck by a vehicle here early on Saturday. Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the scene, on Wellington Road 124 west of Erin, at about 5am on June 15.

WELLINGTON NORTH – Three Hamilton residents have been charged in connection with a shoplifting spree earlier this week at stores in Mount Forest, Arthur, Shelburne and Orangeville.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local man faces six charges in relation to the sexual assault of a minor in several incidents over the last nine months. "The incidents occurred between September 2023 and June 2024 at a home in Centre Wellington," police stated in a press release.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police recently dealt with two incidents involving a gun – one ending with the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and the other with at least one shot fired at a parked vehicle.

PALMERSTON – Police now say there have been two separate incidents of vandalism involving Pride decorations here this month.

WELLINGTON NORTH – On June 11, Wellington County OPP officials announced that police began an investigation "into a reported sexual offence at an address in Wellington North" in April. 

WELLINGTON NORTH – Two local teenagers were airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash here early on Sunday. Emergency crews responded to the scene, on Sideroad 10 E north of Arthur, on June 9 at about 1:30am.

MAPLETON – Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the scene, on Wellington Road 12 at 16th Line, southwest of Arthur in Mapleton Township, on June 6 at about 5pm.

BELWOOD LAKE - OPP and Ministry of Natural Resources officers teamed up to hit the water over a busy weekend at the Belwood Lions Pike and Walley derby from May 25-26. Wellington OPP's marine unit patrols Conestogo, Guelph, Puslinch and Belwood lakes checking for compliance with boating safety laws.
