Brampton man charged with careless driving in fatal June crash

Fergus woman died and two others were seriously injured in two-vehicle collision

ERIN – A Brampton man is facing careless driving charges in connection with a two-vehicle crash here last spring that left a Fergus woman dead and two others seriously injured.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, on Wellington Road 125 at Halton-Erin Townline, southeast of Ospringe, on June 6 at about 6am.

Wellington County OPP officials say a southbound SUV was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling westbound on Halton-Erin Townline.

“The driver and lone occupant of the passenger vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries,” police stated in a press release.

“The driver of the SUV, a 60-year-old of Fergus, was transported to a local hospital where sadly, they were pronounced deceased.”

Two other occupants of the SUV were transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

On Feb. 7, police announced Mandeep Singh Thind, 26, of Brampton, was charged with careless driving causing death and two counts of careless driving causing bodily harm.
