Guelph man charged with murder in male’s disappearance

GUELPH – A Guelph man is charged with murder and committing an indignity to a dead body after police recovered human remains in a green space off Carrington Place here on Feb. 1. 

“Investigation has confirmed they are the remains of a 62-year-old Guelph male, Mike Galizzi, who was last seen downtown the morning of Dec. 6 and was reported missing two days later,” Guelph Police stated in a Feb. 9 press release.

A 27-year-old Guelph man was arrested for second-degree murder and committing an indignity to a human body. 

“The accused and the victim were known to each other,” police stated, adding the accused was to appear in Guelph bail court on Feb. 10.
