Police beat: OPP observes driver with flashing green light

Green light imposter? 

FERGUS – On Jan. 29 at about 4:30am, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Garafraxa Street West here.

Police say “the driver of a blue pickup truck was observed driving with a flashing green light activated.” 

A 20-year-old driver from Fergus was charged with improper use of a green flashing light and failing to have a valid insurance card.

School bus driver with no insurance

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On Jan. 28 at about 2pm a Wellington County OPP officer monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7 stopped the driver of a yellow school bus.

A 27-year-old driver from Toronto was charged with driving a vehicle without insurance and using improper plates. 

The defendant is to appear in Guelph court on May 15.

No permit, insurance

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On Jan. 23 at about 9:30am, a Wellington County OPP officer monitoring traffic on the 6th Line stopped the driver of a red coupe. 

A 23-year-old driver from Fergus was charged with driving while suspended,  driving without a permit and driving without insurance. The defendant is to appear in Guelph court on May 15.
