MAPLETON – A Mapleton man is dead following a tractor rollover here on the weekend. Wellington County OPP officials say the operator of the tractor was cutting grass in the ditch along the 14th Line "when it rolled down the steep embankment and pinned [him] underneath."

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Rachel Mulder has been named the Youth Citizen of the Year in Centre Wellington. The 19-year-old Belwood resident was recognized by the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce for her years of volunteerism with a focus on horticulture.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Starting this week, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) COVID-19 vaccine clinics will prioritize the Moderna vaccine for those aged 18 and above. The move, announced by public health on June 21, is a direct result of Pfizer vaccine shipment delays in Ontario.

FERGUS – Nine-year-old Mark Smith of Fergus is collecting empty beer cans and alcohol bottles from the community and donating funds raised to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where he has received treatment.

ERIN – Mayor Allan Alls has put forward a notice of motion for the town to reconsider a policy to permit off-road vehicles on public roads.
