ELORA – Centre Wellington council gave the green light to Bell Mobility to install a cell tower at 810  St.  David  St.  N. in  Fergus,  which  is  the  site  of  the  Esso Gas Bar.

GUELPH – Two people were arrested, one of them charged with assault with a weapon, after a stabbing here sent two males to hospital and led to a lockdown at a nearby high school.

GUELPH – United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin celebrated “local love” at its 2022 Campaign Celebration on Feb. 8, where volunteers, community organizations and businesses were recognized for their support of the campaign.

GUELPH – The Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) announced on Feb. 1 it has received a $100,000 grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Resilient Communities Fund. 

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 has more than doubled over the last week in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health region, while overall cases have increased slightly.

KENILWORTH – Wellington North council will consider declaring township-owned property along Highway 6 surplus and entering a purchase and sale agreement on Feb. 21. The land has recently been rezoned to permit commercial agricultural and rural industrial uses.
