Harriston Historical Society recruiting for volunteers

'This is a rewarding, educational experience for someone interested in local history and community involvement': MacKenzie

HARRISTON – The Harriston Historical Society is in the process of recruiting volunteer members to assist with the society’s ongoing mandate to showcase local history.

“As a volunteer you would be asked to staff a shift in our John Webb Room at the library, take part in research projects and assist with displays and visitor requests,” states a press release from the society.

“This is a rewarding, educational experience for someone interested in local history and community involvement,” notes historical society board chair Mark MacKenzie.

The society is dedicated to the preservation of the unique heritage of the communities of Harriston and Minto Township through archival collections of vintage pictures, documents and artifacts.

The group stages exhibits and maintains ongoing displays in the John Webb Room on the fully accessible top floor of the Harriston branch of the County of Wellington Library.
