FERGUS – Awards were presented at the February meeting at Fergus Legion Br. 275 to the Remembrance Day poster and literary contest winners from Fergus area schools.

MAPLETON – Deputy fire chief Callise Loos said four stations responded to the blaze, on Concession 8 northwest of Moorefield, on Feb. 25 at about 10:30am. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters and the barn was empty at the time.

MAPLETON – Staff and council here have expended “a significant amount of time, effort and resources” applying for provincial and federal funding for housing development and community growth over the last two years, but all four of the applications the township submitted were unsuccessful.
