Visions from COAA latest exhibit at Minto Arts Gallery in Harriston

HARRISTON – A new exhibit Visions, by the members of the Central Ontario Art Association (COAA), will be on display at the Minto Arts Gallery from April 24 to 26.

The gallery is located on the third floor of the Harriston Library. An artists reception is set for April 4 from 6:30 to 8pm.

Presented by the Minto Arts Council, the show consists of multiple artists selected by the COAA. The artists use various mediums, such as oil, aquarel, mixed media and others.

The COAA is a 50-year-old non-profit organization committed to the visual arts.

The organization aims to provide individual and group opportunities in art instruction, encouragement of art appreciation, pooling of area efforts and resources, development of area leadership in visual art, as well as fostering inter-group co-operation and participation in visual arts.

The group is a network of over 300 artists who mentor each other through workshops, informal paint-outs, sketching trips and exhibitions.

Big Film Fest

Anatomy of a Fall is the April offering from the Minto Arts Council’s Big Film Fest.

The show screens on April 15 at 7:15pm at the Norgan Theatre in Palmerston. Admission is $10.

Film fest officials describe the multiple-award winning picture as “a clever and compelling European film about a writer who tries to prove her innocence after the unexpected death of her husband.”
