GUELPH – A preliminary draft of the 2023 county budget and 10-year plan includes a proposed 3.8 per cent increase in the tax rate next year. However, some members of Wellington County council are pushing for a lower rate hike.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF) allocations to local municipalities will decrease by a combined total of just over $100,000 next year.

COVID-19 assessment centre in Fergus permanently closed
FERGUS – The COVID-19 assessment centre in the old Groves hospital in Fergus is now permanently closed. The centre, which opened in August of 2020, was shut down on Dec. 1.
