WELLINGTON COUNTY – COVID-19 cases are up this week across the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health region, while hospitalizations are down slightly.

GUELPH – A capital budget of $7.6 million for a transitional housing project in Guelph has been approved by Wellington County council.

GUELPH – Gifts are wrapped and heading out the door from Adopt-a-Family’s Guelph location to over 1,400 families in the city and Wellington County.  This year, Adopt-a-Family has seen more need, fewer donors, and “more folks struggling overall,” program manager Megan Harron said.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – More county residents are accessing support from local food banks this season, with all locations across the county reporting increased demand. 

ERIN – The province is proposing to add roughly 7,000 acres of land in Erin to the Greenbelt in exchange for around 7,400 acres of Greenbelt land it plans to remove or redesignate from other areas to make way for housing developments.

ELORA – The impact on the Greenbelt was the focus as dozens of local residents rallied here on Sunday afternoon to protest the provincial government’s Bill 23, the More Homes Built Faster Act.
