ELORA – The Elora Farmers' Market will open for the season at Bissell Park on May 6. It will run every Saturday in the spring and summer, rain or shine, from 9am to 1pm.

ABOYNE - The Indigenous Gathering Circle located at the Wellington Place Campus in Aboyne was officially opened on April 26 with remarks from local politicians and Indigenous ceremony.

FERGUS – The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games has announced its "featured guest" for this summer's festival will be Richard Rankin. Fans of Outlander will recognize Rankin as the actor who plays Roger MacKenzie on the hit TV series.

FERGUS – With little fanfare, Centre Wellington council approved a proposal by Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington to build a townhouse complex at 465 Garafraxa St. W. in Fergus.

ELORA – Work is expected to begin this fall on a multi-million dollar project to expand the track at the Grand River Raceway here. Officials announced on April 26 the raceway is moving ahead with longstanding plans to transform the current half-mile oval into a 5/8-mile track.

FERGUS – While the long-term fate of a historic farmhouse is not known, for the short term it will be used to house resident and locum doctors working at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

FERGUS - As local fairs and festivals are desperately seeking volunteers, they've pooled their resources and held a volunteer recruitment night at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus April 20. 

ELORA – Centre Wellington council will take action on termites.

BELWOOD – The importation of European horses to Canada has been a long-standing tradition in the country’s equine industry – and while it has always been costly, recently the process has become even more expensive.
