CENTRE WELLINGTON – The downtown areas in Fergus and Elora are about to grow "up." Council approved two zoning amendments at its June 26 meeting allowing four-storey apartment buildings to be constructed in the two downtown cores.

A new media style guide, written by Alanna King and Sarah Trick, will increase accuracy, care and nuance of stories about disabled individuals and communities. 

ELORA – In their final good deed of the school year, Grade 8 students at Elora Public School are holding a car wash in support of Team Addy, which in turn will give those proceeds and more to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local man has been charged with four counts of sexual assault in connection with incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2023.

FERGUS – Residents are invited to join a Pierpoint neighbourhood group gathering on June 24 at Peirpoint Park.

FERGUS – When he successfully lifted 442 pounds at the HackenDinnie Classic in Kentucky on June 7, Chris Frappier beat the existing world record for his weight and age. 

ABOYNE – Medicines including sweetgrass, sage and tobacco were planted at the Indigenous Gathering Circle, where about 50 people came together on Indigenous Peoples Day to work towards building community. 

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The township wants to know how residents feel about cannabis retail stores being allowed in Centre Wellington and has a survey posted online at ConnectCW.

FERGUS – McKesson Canada recently announced that Rachel Luther from Centre Wellington Remedy’sRX has been named  Pharmacist of the Year.
