ERIN – One of Ontario’s oldest agricultural fairs is celebrating a landmark anniversary this year. The 175th Erin Fall Fair, themed “175 years – best in show,” is slated for Oct. 10 to 13 at the Erin fairgrounds.

MAPLETON – The PMD Arena and the Drayton and Moorefield fire halls are getting fresh coats of paint for  $80,390. 

MAPLETON – Council here recently had a lengthy discussion about a possible new rural apartment building.

MINTO – One of the Owl’s Nest math classes is sizzling up excitement with a hands-on inquiry-based project that officials say is as delicious as it is educational.

FERGUS – Many volunteers have helped build the 32-unit stacked townhouse development that’s rising from the ground in Fergus.

FERGUS – For decades, children have been playing on the same playground equipment at Victoria Terrace Public School. But equipment doesn’t last forever, and earlier this month it was condemned by Upper Grand District School Board officials.

BELWOOD – Over 400 entrants registered for the 37th edition of the Belwood Lions Club Pike and Walleye derby last weekend.

FERGUS – The CWOSSA Lacrosse championship took place on May 26 at Centre Wellington District High School in Fergus.

FERGUS –  More than 40 vendors sold crystals, jewelry, sun catchers, enchanted candles, spell kits and other “witchy” products at the Mystical Witches Market, at the Fergus sportsplex on May 24. 

FERGUS – Lots of municipal equipment and vehicles were on display at the Centre Wellington Show ‘n’ Shine event at the sportsplex in Fergus on May 24. 

HARRISTON – The Harriston Kinsmen have gotten more support for the multi-use outdoor sports pad.
