MINTO – One of the Owl’s Nest math classes is sizzling up excitement with a hands-on inquiry-based project that officials say is as delicious as it is educational.
The students have planned a barbecue fundraiser as part of Taste Real’s annual Spring Rural Romp, with proceeds dedicated to enhancing the educational experience at the school.
This project is more than just a fun and tasty event, officials say – it’s a real-world application of math skills that emphasizes hands-on and inquiry-based learning.
By engaging in this project, students not only honed their mathematical abilities in areas such as financial literacy and arithmetic operations, but also learned essential skills such as budgeting, planning, and problem-solving, officials say.
The Spring Rural Romp runs May 31 from 10 am to 4pm.
