FERGUS – Centre Wellington District High School was under a "hold and secure" order for about 25 minutes on Friday afternoon in response to reports of a person near the school who may have been carrying a weapon.

BELWOOD – Local police are again warning residents about the "grandparent scam" after two Belwood seniors were each defrauded of $9,000.

ERIN – A local man has been charged with committing an indecent act following an incident here last Tuesday. Wellington County OPP officials say officers were called to Sideroad 5 in Erin at about 1am on Nov. 1.

MAPLETON – A 15-year-old was airlifted to hospital with a serious leg injury following a farm accident here on Oct. 29.

MAPLETON – The driver of a motorcycle was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision here on Sunday.

ERIN – A local senior is dead following a single-vehicle crash here on Friday morning. Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the intersection of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Erin-Garfraxa Townline, north of Hillsburgh, on Oct. 21 at about 6:45am.
