Police identify Guelph man who died in Monday crash

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Police have now identified the Guelph man who died following a serious two-vehicle crash here on Monday.

Derek James Sage, 51, died in the Oct. 24 collision at the intersection of Wellington Roads 124 and 26, southwest of Ospringe, Wellington County OPP officials say.

“Initial reports indicated that a pick-up truck and a sedan had collided, and that there were serious injuries,” police stated in an initial press release.

“The operator of the sedan … was pronounced deceased at scene.

“The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to hospital with minor injuries.”

The OPP is asking anyone with information or dash cam footage that could assist investigators to call 1-888-310-1122.
