ERIN – The Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services, Enbridge Gas and the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council have been working collaboratively to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.

PEEL REGION – In response to the daily discharge of sewage-effluent anticipated to be released from the Town of Erin wastewater treatment plant, the Coalition for the West Credit River brought forward two requests to the Region of Peel council on the morning of Jan. 27.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – In response to the Ontario government moving to a modified version of step two of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen, the Township of Guelph/Eramosa will be temporarily closing all municipal facilities.

ERIN – The Town of Erin has closed two of its recreation facilities following a possible COVID-19 exposure. On Dec. 22, the town posted on its twitter that Centre 2000 in Erin and the Hillsburgh Community Centre would remain closed until further notice.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Following a rise in COVID-19 cases and considering direction from public health, the Township of Guelph/Eramosa municipal office will remain closed to the public.

ERIN – Council here has approved the 2022 budget at the previously projected 2.9 per cent tax levy increase for Town of Erin residents. This translates to an increase of $53 in taxes for an average residential home assessed at $600,000.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Following a report to Erin council that seems to question the town’s future in Wellington County, affected municipalities say it’s up to Erin to make the first move to begin discussions.

ERIN – Town officials here have announced they will be closing the municipal office near Hillsburgh on Dec. 20. “We want everyone to have a safe and healthy holiday season,” Mayor Allan Alls stated.

ERIN – In order to balance the 2022 budget, and to fund the capital projects being requested, staff here are proposing a 2.9 per cent ($223,000) tax increase for Town of Erin residents.

ERIN – While no decisions have been made at this time, a report prepared for Erin council suggests town officials may be considering seceding from Wellington County.
