GUELPH – The Waterloo Wellington Alzheimer Society held a Walks for Alzheimers in Guelph, Mount Forest, Cambridge and Kitchener on May 24. 

KENILWORTH – The playground at Hutchinson Park in Mount Forest is set to be upgraded by Park N Water Ltd. for $149,651. 

KENILWORTH – The township of Wellington North has rezoned a Mount Forest lot owned by Aitken Custom Framing in preparation for the construction of 10 townhouses in two five-unit blocks. 

KENILWORTH – A bus will continue to travel between Guelph and Owen Sound twice daily, seven days a week, making stops in Arthur, Mount Forest, Fergus and Elora.

FERGUS – The county’s automated speed enforcement pilot program officially went live in some designated school and community safety zones on Jan. 15, meaning drivers who speed in those areas could end up with tickets mailed to them after the fact.

GUELPH – Ambulance stations were a hot topic of discussion at a special council meeting on Jan. 6 to present the county’s draft 2025 budget and 10-year plan.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Recent data from Feed Ontario shows the number of people visiting food banks across the province doubled between 2019 and 2023.

MOUNT FOREST – A previously dark alley in downtown Mount Forest has been transformed into an art gallery thanks to support from local businesses and the work of local artists.
