ABOYNE – Groves Memorial Community Hospital (GMCH) officials are reminding the public the hospital is open for mammography exams, including enhanced infection control measures.

ABOYNE – On Aug. 9 at 6am the doors to the old Groves Memorial Community Hospital on Union Street in Fergus were closed and locked for the last time. Simultaneously the doors to the new Groves hospital on 131 Frederick Campbell St. in Aboyne opened to patients for the first time.

ABOYNE – The new Groves hospital is officially open.

ABOYNE – Over a decade of campaigning, planning, fundraising and hard work will culminate in a historic transition at 6am on Aug. 9. At precisely that moment, services will transfer from the old Groves hospital in Fergus to the new building at Wellington Place in Aboyne.

FERGUS – The New Groves Hospital campaign has officially surpassed its $20-million fundraising goal – a feat over five years in the making.

ABOYNE - Groves Memorial Community Hospital will officially move from Fergus to the new facility here on Aug. 9.

ABOYNE – They’ve got the keys, so it’s just a matter of time before the new Groves Memorial Community Hospital will open.

ABOYNE - Officials say the new Groves Memorial Community Hospital "has reached substantial completion" and will open in about four or five months.

Some area residents have expressed concern about the possibility of parking fees at the new Groves Memorial Community Hospital, but nothing has been decided.
