ELORA – While a generous donation on the surface, some councillors were concerned accepting a donation of Christmas lights in the Elora Green Space sends the wrong message about energy conservation and sets a precedent about how much donors can dictate who should provide a service.

ELORA – On July 30, Elora’s Longest BBQ will launch Food Day Canada, which falls on Aug. 3 this year. “It’s about fostering community, supporting local businesses and celebrating our vibrant food culture,” said Food Day Canada board director Jeff Stewart.

FERGUS – Fun and games, music, a basketball tournament and more were part of the Team Addy Family Fun Day at Centre Wellington District High School on July 13.

FERGUS – All students in Grades 4 through 8 at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Fergus worked diligently this spring, right to the last day of school, on a variety of cross-curricular projects in French and fine arts that focused on helping the planet.

FERGUS – Seniors month celebrations were held at Victoria Park Seniors Centre in Fergus on June 20.

FERGUS – A Royal Tribute Productions presents the Timeless: Rock Rebels show on Oct. 17 at 7:30pm at the Fergus Grand Theatre.

ABOYNE –  Wellington County showcased the many diverse cultures in the community at its second Multicultural Festival, held on the grounds of the Wellington County Museum and Archives on July 13.
