ACTON – A 54-year-old man left the Acton Fall Fair with a brain bleed and a fractured skull, following an interaction with police. The SIU has concluded there is no reasonable grounds to believe any officers involved committed a criminal offence during the interaction.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police are asking break-in victims to check if their stolen items are among those recovered by a neighbouring police force.

ERIN – Police are once again warning people about scams after an Erin resident was bilked out of $50,000 last week. OPP officials say the victim received a phone call on Jan. 17 from someone posing as a fraud investigator from a local bank.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Wellington County OPP officials say a Centre Wellington business called police last February to report it had lost $230,000 in "a phishing scam.”

LONDON – Police are offering some safety tips for drivers in light of a polar vortex that descended upon southern Ontario this week, sending the region into a deep freeze.

GUELPH – The mother of an Arthur man who died in police custody has filed an official complaint against the OPP. Nathaniel Schofield, 36, died on July 10 after spending a night at the Wellington OPP station in Rockwood. 

MINTO – Police have charged two more people in connection with the 2019 kidnapping and death of Jason John Brown. Five people in total have now been charged in the murder of the 43-year-old Kitchener man.

GUELPH – A Fergus man is dead after he was hit by a city bus in downtown Guelph on Wednesday afternoon.

ROCKWOOD – It’s been six months since Arthur resident Nathaniel Schofield died in police custody, but still little is known about what happened.
