PUSLINCH – Puslinch council is contemplating spending $4.9 million on capital projects in 2022.

MOUNT FOREST - The Mount Forest District Chamber of Commerce has announced this year’s excellence award recipients. Seven-year-old Simon Dickert was this year’s youth citizen of the year winner.

ELORA – Passersby will see thousands of knitted poppies cascading from the windows of the St. John Anglican Church steeple over the next couple weeks. Members of the church gathered on Oct. 24 to hoist the poppies up the walls of the church, where they will remain until Nov. 14.

GUELPH – Wellington County council wants more information before endorsing a funding application and partnership proposal with the Elora Mill, a subsidiary of Pearle Hospitality, to develop a new public space in downtown Elora.

ERIN – Following the results of a public survey, council here has reversed course and will now permit cannabis retail stores within the Town of Erin.

ORANGEVILLE – An Erin man has been charged with sexual assault in connection with an incident at  a business here.

ERIN – Rain may have been making things soggy in the fields of Bella Farm near Hillsburgh on Saturday, but precipitation didn’t dampen the spirits of the volunteers participating in a community harvest event for The Seed.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Council here has awarded a contract for the installation of an emergency generator at the Royal Distributing Athletic Performance Centre in Marden.

WELLINGTON COUNTY - The region’s active case count sits at 31 as of Nov. 1. That is down from 53 cases one week ago and marks the region's lowest active case count since mid-August.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local teen is dead following a collision here on Sunday night involving an SUV and a motor-assisted bicycle. Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Wellington Road 19 and 2nd Line, east of Fergus, at about 7pm on Oct. 31.

DRAYTON – The curtains will rise once again, and Drayton Entertainment officials are looking forward to the return to live theatre performances as they announce the reopening of two of their venues.

MOUNT FOREST – Students and staff at Wellington Heights Secondary School (WHSS) have transplanted 80 red pine trees along the perimeter of the school property.
