Erin man charged with sexual assault in Orangeville

ORANGEVILLE – An Erin man has been charged with sexual assault in connection with an incident at a business here.

Dufferin County OPP announced on Nov. 2 that Perry Meeker, 55, of Erin, was charged with sexual assault.

“The accused was known to the victim,” police stated in a press release.

The accused was released and is to appear before in Orangeville court in December.

Police are asking anyone who may have additional information or believes that they were a victim of a similar circumstance to contact the Dufferin OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

“Members of the Dufferin OPP Crime Unit work with victims to encourage reporting of serious crimes,” police stated.
