PALMERSTON – On May 10, two students from the Norwell District Secondary School Equity Class held a Prom Dress Drive at The Grove Hubs Palmerston for those still needing or wanting prom dresses.

PALMERSTON – Last week, Norwell District Secondary School (NDSS) celebrated and embraced Mental Health Education and Awareness Week with guest speaker Paulie O’Byrne, a mental health specialist with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).

KITCHENER – Norwell District Secondary School students and District 4 gold medalists Marisa H and Dana K travelled to Conestoga College on April 18 to complete in the girls doubles badminton Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association tournament.

MINTO – Minto held its Northern Wellington Works volunteer and job fair on April 11 at Norwell District Secondary School in Palmerston.

MOUNT FOREST – The Wellington Heights Secondary School girls hockey team had a great season, finishing in third place with five wins, four losses, and three ties.

PALMERSTON – The Norwell District Secondary School Varsity Reds boys hockey team travelled to the Simcoe area March 4 and 5 to compete in the ‘AA’ CWOSSA championships.

PALMERSTON - The Norwell District Secondary School Varsity Girls and Boys Curling teams competed at CWOSSA in Shelburne on Feb. 27.

PALMERSTON - Norwell’s Grade 12 cosmetology class spread kindness and cheer as they hosted their third annual Christmas Free Store.

MINTO – Kate Howlett received the Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society Donna Charter’s Memorial Bursary for 2023.

PALMERSTON - Norwell District Secondary School’s Abound Group made Christmas cards for residents at the Palmerston Royal Terrace long term and residential care home.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Six local weightlifting athletes have qualified for the 2024 Ontario Winter Games in Thunder Bay, Feb. 16 to 26.

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Dec. 12,  seven Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) schools sent 28 teams to Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) for the 2023 Special Olympics Guelph Basketball Qualifier.

PALMERSTON – Norwell District Secondary School staff and students attended the boys’ hockey game to cheer on the local Varsity Reds on Nov. 30.

PALMERSTON – Students from Norwell District Secondary School’s business leadership class held an “exciting and compelling” community dinner event on Nov. 28.
