MINTO – Wellington North, Minto and Mapleton firefighters may be getting a pay raise in the near future.

MINTO – Wounded Warriors Canada has announced a partnership with Mapleton Fire Rescue, Minto Fire and Wellington North Fire Service aimed at delivering mental health training and counselling services to firefighters and their families.

MAPLETON – Deputy fire chief Callise Loos said four stations responded to the blaze, on Concession 8 northwest of Moorefield, on Feb. 25 at about 10:30am. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters and the barn was empty at the time.

MINTO – The Minto Fire Department is seeking support from Centre Wellington as it disbands two specialty rescue teams. 

CLIFFORD – The Clifford Santa Claus Parade was hosted by Minto Fire on the evening of Nov. 25.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – During fire prevention week and month, Minto Fire and Wellington North Fire Service have daily contests happening such as Trivia Tuesday and a colouring contest through social media.

PALMERSTON – The Upper Canada Two Cylinder Club (UCTCC) donated $1,000 to the Minto Fire’s Palmerston station on Sept. 28.

MINTO – Five cattle were killed as fire destroyed a barn southeast of Clifford on Saturday night. Everyone in the building "got out safely and no injuries were reported," a press release states.

MINTO – Council here has approved an agreement to share the services of a bylaw enforcement officer with the Township of Mapleton.

911 Ride - Minto Fire hosted a lunch for about 150 Canada 911 Ride participants at the Palmerston fire station on Aug. 27.

MINTO – The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs across Guelph and Wellington County have helped more than 14,000 youth who have participated in wide range of activities at the hubs since they were launched in mid-2021. 

MINTO – It cost more than hoped, but Minto Fire is upgrading its truck fleet with two purchases approved by town council on Feb. 15.

MINTO – Fire officials are reminding residents about the importance of regular chimney and fireplace maintenance after a chimney fire resulted in around $200,000 damage to a local house on the weekend.
