SALEM – The kettlebell doesn’t fall far from the bench press in the Cox household.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Ontario Masters Provincials in Olympic Lifting was held in St. Thomas on Feb. 24, and Belinda Cox from Salem set three Ontario records at the event in snatch, clean and jerk, and total.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Siblings Hannah and Ethan Wright from Elora recently travelled to Orlando, Florida to compete at the World Karate Commission World Championships Oct. 23 to 27.

SALEM – Chris Cox has done it again. The Salem man set his third Guinness World Record – this time for the heaviest single repetition Turkish get-up. He completed the complicated manoeuvre on Jan. 9, lifting 76.56kg (168 lbs. 8 oz.) in a single repetition.

SALEM – Not content with earning one Guinness World Record in 2021, Chris Cox has earned another. The Salem man lifted the most weight by Atlas stone in one hour. He lifted a 69.2 kg (152.78-pound) Atlas stone 252 times in an hour for a cumulative weight of 17,463kg or 38,500 pounds.

SALEM - Belinda and Chris Cox have given new meaning to the term “power couple.” The Salem couple each set a Guinness World Record for feats of strength and athleticism this year.

ELORA - Belinda Cox, a teacher at Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) recently set the Guinness World Record for most chest-to-ground burpees in one hour by a female, with 775.

LISTOWEL – Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Leona Ottens’ Guinness World Record undertaking on Dec. 23 is that she still had enough in the tank afterward to do a victory jog around the Between The Lines (BTL) track with her children.
