MINTO – On Feb. 6, representatives from the Town of Minto attended the 68th annual Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) President’s Dinner in downtown Toronto, where a range of individuals and initiatives that made a significant impact on their communities in 2024 were recognized.

MINTO – Town officials are proposing a 2025 budget that projects a 6.5 per cent tax levy increase. The draft operating budget is $6.8 million.

MINTO – Following a notice of motion from Mayor Dave Turton, next year Minto council meetings have been changed to 3pm with one 7pm meeting held during February, April, June, October and December. 

GUELPH – Project bids far in excess of what was budgeted have caused Wellington County council to defer planned upgrades to its waste transfer stations in Rothsay and Elora.

PALMERSTON – A celebration of life for former Town of Minto mayor David Burns will be held at the Frank Lambier Legion in Palmerston on June 14.

MINTO – Mayor Dave Turton addresses a crowd of about 200 local volunteers at the Town of Minto Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Palmerston Community Centre on April 18.

PALMERSTON – Palmerston kicked off the holiday season on Nov. 17 with its annual Light Up the Park event at Lions Heritage Park.

PALMERSTON – The Norwell District Secondary School 2023 commencement ceremony was held at the school on Nov. 3.

CLIFFORD – It was a sunny Saturday morning, when the Clifford and District Horticultural Society (CDHS) celebrated National Tree Day by planting a tree in the Old Rotary Park in Clifford to honour Georgie Hutchison, who passed away in January. 

MINTO — On July 11, Minto council approved a structural grant of $3,000 to Ms. Beauty Salon, Spa and Laser Clinic in Harriston.

Chili cook-off – Diners sampled and judged chili created by local businesses and organizations at a chili cook-off hosted by Harriston Rising at the local Legion branch on March 3.
