GUELPH – Two days after announcing that people aged 70 and over can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine, public health has opened the process to people aged 60 and up. On March 10, WDGPH announced that people in Phase 2 of the province's plan can pre-register.

GUELPH – The trial of Michelle Hanson, who is facing charges in relation to the 2018 death of her three-year old son Kaden Young, has been delayed. The Amaranth resident’s trial was scheduled to begin on March 8 in Guelph, but jury trials in Ontario are currently not being held due to the pandemic.

GUELPH – People aged 70 and older can now pre-register for COVID-19 vaccines. But that doesn’t move this new age group to the front of the line just yet.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, Community Living centres in the region will reopen and the day programs once offered will resume.

ROCKWOOD – In response to "recent community concerns regarding unsafe driving practices," local police will be conducting a traffic safety blitz here on March 10.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) is reporting 67 new COVID-19 cases in the region over the weekend (March 5 to 7), including eight in Wellington County.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Provincial workplace health and safety inspectors will be returning to Wellington Dufferin Guelph in the coming weeks. An inspection blitz in February found that just 45 per cent of the 572 businesses inspected were in compliance with the Reopening Ontario Act.
