ELORA – Muscles were flexing, music was pumping, people were cheering and  100 records were set during the True North True Strength Open. 

ELORA – Pearle Hospitality has begun restoration of the Walser building, the final piece in its eight-building heritage revitalization as part of the Elora Mill redevelopment.

Steam powered – U.S. band Steam Powered Giraffe played two sold-out shows at the Fergus Grand Theatre – on Sept. 5 and 6 – as part of the Cogs and Clockworks Steampunk Festival in Fergus on the weekend. These photos were taken at the Sept. 5 performance. 

ELORA – The property owner at 6949 Wellington Road 7, just south of Alma, is seeking a zoning change to allow a farming-related business to set up shop.

FERGUS – The Herrlinger Family has won this year’s Fergus Fall Fair yard display competition with the display above on Wellington Road 18.

Festival fun – The annual Fergus Cogs and Clockwork Steampunk Festival took place Sept. 6 as steampunk enthusiasts and curious onlookers filled Fergus’ downtown strip. The event featured over 50 vendors selling various wares including crafts, clothing and unique art pieces.

FERGUS – The fourth season of the Mid-Day Music at Melville returns to Melville United Church on Oct. 1, from noon to 1pm.

FERGUS – The Fergus Agricultural Society has honoured three community members with lifetime memberships.
