FERGUS – An otherwise routine Thursday morning for retirees George and Dianne Fraser goes awry when their phone rings with distressing news their beloved grandson is in handcuffs.

MAPLETON – A Mount Forest teenager is dead and two other teens are seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash here on Sunday night. Emergency crews were called to the scene, on Wellington Road 12 in Mapleton Township, on March 19 at about 11:50pm.

FERGUS – Police are asking for help to find the person(s) responsible for stealing a taxicab here earlier this month.

PALMERSTON – An Orangeville man faces 10 charges in connection with the theft of a gun safe containing several firearms.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Police are looking for help to find those responsible for stealing about $250,000 worth of toothpaste from a local business. Wellington County OPP officials say officers responded to a theft call at "a storage lot" Highway 7 in Guelph/Eramosa.

FERGUS – Police have arrested two people in connection with a "grandparent scam" targeting a resident here. Wellington County OPP officials say they received a call about "an active fraud" at a Fergus home on March 2 at about 1pm.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – A county man, 59, has been charged with sexual assault. Wellington County OPP officials announced the charge on March 1.

PUSLINCH – CTV News Kitchener reporter Stephanie Villella is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while reporting on an earlier crash in Puslinch on March 1.
