MAPLETON – A Hamilton senior is dead after being hit by a vehicle while riding a bike here on Sunday. Emergency crews were called to the scene, on Wellington Road 12 between Wellington Road 8 and 12th Line, on April 16 at about 3pm.

GUELPH – Members of the Wellington County’s Police Services Board (PSB) are concerned about residents’ perceptions of the police presence in the county.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The search for a male suspect around Belwood Lake on Thursday was not successful but police arrested the man later that night at a nearby property.

GUELPH – County of Wellington officials are seeking funding to extend the local Integrated Mobile Police and Crisis Team (IMPACT).

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A local man is charged with assault and sexual assault of a minor following what police are calling a "family dispute" here. Wellington County OPP officials say officers were called to the dispute on March 31 at about 7:30pm.

MOUNT FOREST – A local woman has been charged in connection with a stabbing here last week that left one person with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

ARISS – A Guelph resident was taken to hospital with minor injuries, but so far no one has been charged after a person barricaded themself in a home here for about seven hours.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – A London man has been charged with sexual assault in connection with several incidents many years ago. Police say the victim reported the assaults took place in Guelph and Wellington County County between 1993 and 2005.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Police are issuing a public safety alert following three opiate overdoses in the county this past weekend. "Thankfully, in each instance, naloxone was successfully administered and none of the overdoses were fatal," police stated in an April 2 press release.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – A local 14-year-old boy faces 17 sex assault and child pornography charges involving multiple victims over a 10-month period last year.
