MINTO - The Town of Minto is joining this year’s national celebration of arts and culture by hosting a wide variety of events and activities for Culture Days.

MINTO – Ice will be installed in two of the town’s three arenas in time for the beginning of the winter sports season. However, like the past two seasons, a plan is in place to install ice at the Clifford arena later in the year if demand warrants it.

MAPLETON – A colorful new mural will soon decorate a section of Drayton’s downtown.

ALMA - The Alma Optimist Club is hosting a candidates evening for all municipal election candidates for the Township of Mapleton on Oct. 6.

MAPLETON – Township finances are trending toward a deficit position for 2022 according to a budget variance report presented at the Sept. 13 council meeting.

MOUNT FOREST - In 2020, the old Mount Royal Hotel building came under new ownership and the restaurant within changed names to the Mount Forest Tavern. A little over two years later, the iconic restaurant was shut down and the building sold once again.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Despite recent rain, Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) officials are urging area residents to continue reducing water consumption by 20 per cent.

The 166th Arthur Fall Fair ran on the grounds of the Arthur and Area Community Centre from Sept. 8 to 11, inviting residents to celebrate community and agriculture.

ARTHUR – Kelsey Lennox has been crowned the 2022-23 Arthur Fall Fair ambassador.

WELLINGTON COUNTY - After two years of being held virtually, the in-person Drayton Terry Fox Run is back on.

HARRISTON – The Harriston Kinsmen are hosting the Minto Tuff Truck 2022 fall event on Oct. 1 at the Harriston arena fair grounds.
