WELLINGTON COUNTY – There are two new mayors and some new faces on all three northern Wellington councils in the wake of the Oct. 24 municipal elections.
Dehn defeats Smith in Erin mayoral race
ERIN – Michael Dehn has defeated current councillor Rob Smith in the mayoral race in the Town of Erin. Dehn, who lost a close mayoral race in 2018 to Allan Alls, received 1,776 votes. Smith received 1,550 votes.
Incumbents win the day; eight county councillors will return for new term
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Of the nine county councillors elected by voters, eight will be returning for the 2022-26 term.

MAPLETON – The next Mapleton council will include two new and two returning councillors.
Watters wins mayoral race in Centre Wellington
ELORA – Shawn Watters will be the new mayor of Centre Wellington after defeating opponents Neil Dunsmore and Bob Foster in the three-way race.
