MINTO — Violets in the Barn, operated by Jean Anderson at 6362 3rd Line Minto, was officially opened on Sept. 14.

MOUNT FOREST — Rob Pinnegar, president of “A Crazy Motorcycle Establishment” riding club, presents Cancer Patient Services (CPS) member Sharon Wilson with a $2,000 donation.

WELLINGTON NORTH – A group of residents along Concession 4 North, which is part of a haulage route for three gravel pits, are fed up with the gravel road’s condition, and say it’s high time to have it paved.

ABOYNE – Nearly 1,300 attendees at the first Wellington County Multicultural Festival on Sept. 23 were treated to food, entertainment and activities celebrating the many cultures and communities that make up Wellington County. 

MINTO – Town council has endorsed a call from the Minto Chamber of Commerce for Westario Power Inc. to address concerns about frequent power outages in the western portion of Harriston.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Due to a recent rise in COVID-19 cases, masks will once again be required at all three hospitals in the county. Officials are asking visitors to be kind to health care workers, "especially when they ask you to wear a mask."

MINTO – Town council has agreed to a plan that will see Pride banners installed on light standards leading into Clifford, Harriston and Palmerston from the beginning of May until the end of September each year.

ALMA – The Wellington County Farm and Home Safety Association is hosting a Children’s Farm and Home Safety Day on Sept. 30 at Husky Farm Equipment in Alma. 

HARRISTON – Linda Campbell, who recently made her 150th blood donation, is urging others to give the "gift of life" whenever they can. 

PALMERSTON – The Palmerston Terry Fox Run kicked off on the morning of Sept. 17 with a running and walking route around town. The event reached its 2023 goal of $5,000 and the total funds raised will be announced later this week. The Palmerston Terry Fox Run has now raised over $150,000 since 1982.

MAPLETON — The Drayton Terry Fox Run was on Sept. 17 with the option to bike, walk or run. The event began at 1:30pm at the Drayton Agricultural Hall with routes of 2km, 5km and 10km. Water stations were also located along the routes. Musical entertainment and food were available while participants

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Popular local musical act MooreBand is set to launch its second annual concert series, with nine shows planned at six venues in five Wellington County communities.
