GUELPH – Ambulance stations were a hot topic of discussion at a special council meeting on Jan. 6 to present the county’s draft 2025 budget and 10-year plan.

GUELPH – The spotlight was shining on two students from Fergus and Harriston during a Wellington Catholic District School Board meeting on Nov. 4. 

MINTO ­– No one was hurt as a result of an agricultural fire between Palmerston and Harriston on Sept. 5.

MINTO – Minto Firefighters held their annual breakfast in the Harriston Arena on June 1. Over 700 lined up for pancakes, eggs, hash browns and sausage prepared by local firefighters. 

HARRISTON – Local resident Dorothy Harrison is celebrating 50 years of music, memories and harmony.

MINTO – It may be a small town, but Minto was bustling with community activity in 2023, according to a year-end report from the municipality’s economic and community development department. The department hosted or facilitated a total of 95 community events last year.

MISSISSAUGA – An OPP officer won’t face criminal charges for firing an Anti-riot Weapon Enfield gun at two Harriston brothers, and striking them with less-lethal impact rounds.

MINTO – A long-term plan for the grounds surrounding the Harriston-Minto Community Complex has been approved in principal by town council.
