Museum and archives hosts annual Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts will return to the Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) from April 18 to June 30.

Insights encourages local artists to submit their work to showcase.

The exhibit is organized and sponsored by the Insights Committee of the Elora Fergus Arts Council and is one of the longest-running juried art exhibitions in Ontario.

“The Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts is a testament to the exceptional talent and creativity of artists in Wellington County and neighbouring communities,” said Susan Thorning, co-chair of the Insights committee.

“We are excited to showcase their work and celebrate their artistic accomplishments.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Insights back for its 43rd year,” says WCMA curator Hailey Johnston. “Insights is more than just an art exhibition, it’s an opportunity to connect with the local community and appreciate the beauty and diversity of the arts.”

New this year, artists must register online before delivering their artwork to the WCMA. Registration is open until April 3.

Submissions are accepted from artists residing in the counties of Wellington, Dufferin, Grey, Huron and Perth, and the City of Guelph.

The exhibition’s opening gala will take place on April 18 from 7 to 9pm, with the awards presentation at 8pm. Admission is by donation, all are welcome to enjoy refreshments, a cash bar, and cast an early vote for the People’s Choice Award. The voting for this award will extend throughout the exhibit, with the winner to be announced on June 21 at 1pm.
