Mount Forest kick-a-thon backs brain tumour research

Kicking for the cause – On the weekend of Oct. 26-27, the Phoenix Performance Center in Mount Forest held its third annual Kickz with Kelly, a 24-hour kick-a-thon fundraising event that supports the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. More than 300,000 kicks were executed during the 24 hours. Charlie Reid  was among the participants, including 53 from the Mount Forest area, plus members of others gyms from Guelph and Walkerton. David Reeves, who operates Phoenix Performance Center, and his wife Kelly, who has lived with a brain tumour for 16 years, launched the event to have a positive impact. This year $2,613 was raised for paediatric brain tumour research at Sick Kids Hospital.
