MacPherson Builders start construction of new community homes, park in Fergus

MacPherson Builders has begun construction of homes in a planned community centred around Strathlea Park.

“Construction of the homes and the park is now underway, with the park open for use and the homes ready for occupancy in the spring of next year,” says Strathlea spokesperson Lynn Pasquale.

“Strathlea has everything homeowners are looking for – beautiful homes in a tranquil, quaint setting with easy access to the amenities of larger centres, all at a very affordable price point.”

Phase one consists of 68 bungalow, raised bungalow and two-storey designs with attached garages. Homes range in size from 1,300 to 3,200 square feet with prices starting from $290,000.

“Fergus is a vibrant, welcoming community that offers residents a tremendous lifestyle,” adds Pasquale.

MacPherson Builders, has dedicated the two acres of land for the park, as well as necessary landscaping and servicing and $50,000 toward playground equipment, with the town of Fergus covering the remaining costs.

President Russell Higgins said, “we wanted this park to be first class in terms of the quality of workmanship.”

The majority of the work for the playground will be completed this year and the rubberized surface added either this year or in the spring (warmer weather is required when pouring the surface).
