WELLINGTON COUNTY – No one was seriously injured, but police responded to hundreds of calls across the county between Dec. 23 and 26, during what was likely the worst winter storm here in several years.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The County of Wellington has declared a “significant weather event” due to the considerable snowfall and current blowing snow.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Libraries and waste facilities across the county are closed today in response to a major winter storm warning. The Wellington County Museum and Archives has also been closed.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – With a major storm warning issued by Environment Canada for the province, including the local region, numerous closures have been announced with more expected as the storm progresses.

FERGUS – Students and staff at J.D. Hogarth Public School have collected over 3,700 food items to contribute to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.  “Christmas is a special time, but it can be very stressful for those who are struggling financially,” said teacher Jim Newton.

ERIN – The book begins, “I’ve never lived in Erin Township, but I do feel completely at home there. I love to meander the side roads, finding a kind of spiritual asana that eases the urban angst from my mind and body, filling me up with lingering peaceful vibrations.” 

ERIN - Lacrosse player Cohen Jennings has been offered an athletic scholarship at the University of Tampa and is looking forward to the opportunity. 

ERIN – Following disruptions to Main Street businesses caused by ongoing work for Enbridge gas lines in the village of Erin, the town is asking how future disruptions might be mitigated – namely during construction of Erin’s new wastewater treatment plant.
