CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Centre Wellington Fusion U10A hockey team won the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) Tri-County League and was crowned Champions on March 30.

FERGUS – The Centre Wellington Fusion U15 Select team won its Tri-County playoff final on March 30 in Fergus, beating Oakville 2-0.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The number of local municipal employees paid over $100,000 per year went up by 38 per cent last year. The salaries were published by the province as part of the Public Sector Salary Disclosure List.

GUELPH – On March 27, county council voted 9–7 to reject larger signs for the automated speed enforcement pilot program, which to date has generated $1.18 million in gross revenue.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Elora waste facility will temporarily close from April 5 until December for the construction of a $2.89-million county project. 

FERGUS – What’s it like to have autism? As World Autism Day (April 2) approaches, 11-year-old Matteo Di Cintio gave it some thought. “It’s like having a super power,” he said in an interview. “I have a super brain that makes me really smart.”

FERGUS – Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) is inviting the public to view the UGDSB Excellence in Visual Arts Show and CWDHS Art Show and cheer artists on in the board's second Annual Battle of the Brushes at Centre Wellington District High School on April 3 from 6 to 9pm.

FERGUS – Police are looking for help to identify the man responsible for lewd conduct involving a child in a bathroom, presumably at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
