WELLINGTON COUNTY - When horse people left for U.S. racetracks during provincial COVID-19 lockdowns, worry rippled across the harness racing industry about a permanent loss of drivers and horses. Homegrown talent has since returned spurring industry optimism about recovery.

ELORA – The Fergus Agricultural Society and Grand River Agricultural Society are partnering to hold a “Breakfast from the Farm” drive-through event on July 31 at the GrandWay Events Centre from 8:30 to 11:30am.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A Belwood man has been charged with sexual assault following an incident here earlier this month. Wellington County OPP officials say that on July 9 at about 4:45am they received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in a vehicle on Wellington Road 29 in Guelph/Eramosa.

FERGUS – Every year, Fergus-based home automation company Station Earth  holds a client appreciation day called Hot Laps, during which clients get an opportunity to run their sports cars on a professional racetrack to experience what their vehicles are truly capable of.
