FERGUS – A table was filled with training manuals and other items at the Fergus fire hall on Feb. 2 thanks to a donation of $5,000 from Enbridge Gas.

OTTAWA – The OPP, RCMP and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) are joining forces to launch a fraud prevention campaign from Feb. 6 to 10.

ELORA – The township has put termites on hold for now. A report on the matter was to be presented at the Jan. 30 council meeting, but Mayor Shawn Watters announced new information had been received by staff, and asked to take it off the agenda.

FERGUS – Curt McQueen had both a rousing send-off and a momentous welcome on Jan. 30 as he retired as principal of Elora Public School and started a new job as manager of the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

ABOYNE – Following a successful inaugural event last year, officials have announced the second annual Wellington County Writers’ Festival will be held on June 10.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – COVID-19 hospitalizations are down significantly across the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) region this week and local case counts have dropped for the fourth week in a row.
